These days, we hear a great deal about artificial intelligence and humanoid robots. In reality, artificial intelligence is just that, an artifice—nothing more than clever programming based on a framework that does not model the human mind. In fact, we don’t have a good understanding of the human mind, only some theories that don’t account for the most important aspects of being human, such as self-awareness.
At this point, we find ourselves outside the domain of science, because both the scientific method and its metaphysical presuppositions lack the ability to deal with such issues, unless we abuse science. We are in the realm of philosophy and metaphysics or, more likely, theology, because we truly are Imago Dei, in the image of God.
